Jovan specializes in construction law, international transactions and dispute resolution mainly through arbitration proceedings. He developed his career within “Energoprojekt”, international construction and engineering company which constructed numerous complex projects in more than 50 countries over the world. As a Legal Adviser (2007-2012), Senior Legal Adviser (2012-2016) and Chief Legal Officer (2016-2018) he actively took part in negotiation and completion of more than 100 construction projects and real estate investments in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, Jordan, Qatar, Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Ghana and Nigeria.
Jovan’s main expertise is negotiation and management of the FIDIC based contracts, contracts for supply of the capital equipment, financing arrangements and dispute resolution.
He represented clients in international arbitration proceedings conducted under the ICC and SCC Rules and has advised parties in DAB and mediation proceedings. Jovan is a member of the Serbian Arbitration Association, member of the Management Board of Business Lawyer’s Association and on the list of persons qualified for dispute resolution who may be appointed as arbitrators of Permanent Arbitration at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia .
He is consultant of Serbian FIDIC Association (ACES) and participates in professional trainings regarding the FIDIC General Conditions of Contract. Jovan publishes articles on regular bases and is a speaker at conferences relevant for construction industry. Jovan is fluent in English and has working knowledge of Russian language.
