He’s been engaged in a wide variety of projects, with the accent on cultural, office and residential sector, reconstruction and heritage preservation. Focus on the ecological and commercial sustainability in architecture, always keeping in mind sustainable principles of nature and environment. Author of many realized objects, residential projects - family houses in Heroja Tepića, Brzakova and Lazarevačka Street, home/atelier in Senjačka Street; reconstruction and revitalization of Nebojša’s Tower and Coastal Rampart, followed by the sports hall in Obrenovac elementary school, family house Voždovac renovation - concept of original materials reuse and recycling.
He won many international and local competitions and prizes and his work has been widely recognized, for accomplishments in architecture and urbanism. Some of the prizes worth mentioning: four time Grand-Prix Salon of Architecture winner, The City of Belgrade Award, SAS Yearly Award,
Borba Award for Architecture, Belgrade Chamber of Commerce Award, Yugoslavia Chamber of Commerce Award, two times winner of one of the most prestigious Serbian Awards - Ranko Radović.
His work, analysis, projects and realized objects were published in many professional monographs, and have been exhibited widely, both in local and international scene - Belgrade, Novi Sad, Venice, Moscow, Seoul, Prague, Barcelona, Berlin, Vienna. He is the only Serbian author and architect whose work was published in - l'Architecture d'aujourd'hui - magazine.
Not so long ago Mr. Mitrović and his team of architects, they call themselves LFG (Living Future Green), won the first prize for the competition: Balkan ECO Centre, Belgrade, Zeleni Venac (ex ENERGOPROJEKT/Beobanka building). International team of judges noticed that LFG proposal should by all means be awarded, as it is leaving the competition far behind. Many would agree that the proposal represents a good 21st century sustainable architecture example. Aware of environment, miming the nature, both - in history & future and now co-creating experience.
