AFTER THE REBEC 2010
On the REBEC in 2010 a professional information platform was definitely set up, that has won regional significance in the field of investments in real estate development. The network of experts and investors, especially between Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro and Serbia has been established, funds that had not been present in Serbia expressed their interest to start their business operations not only in Serbia but in the region, and in that way, as we could read in the meantime on several web sites abroad, REBEC achieved a positive regional evaluation as an indispensable and important specialized event in the Balkans.
Investments in real estate development across Europe, particularly in South Eastern Europe, are showing a growth in the last year. The report of the company Jones Lang Lasalle showed that direct investments in the European real estate market in 2010 have reached 20.6 billion euros, 68 percent more than in the previous year, 2009. The turnover in the real estate market in Central and Eastern Europe, according to the data of CB Richard Ellis, has in the last year, compared to 2009, increased by 90 percent, to five billion euros. These are serious and positive indicators, which confirm that on the upcoming event in Belgrade, a number of high quality themes will be offered.
In the three days of presentations at the fair and in the two-day conference with the major panel discussions, which are the backbone of the event, REBEC 2011 will, as in the years before, present investment models that have experienced the practical application in Serbia, offer expert analysis of existing projects, and the perspective in the field of investment will be presented, especially in the domain of hotels and tourist attractions, logistics and industrial parks as well as investment projects that are related to the development of renewable energy sources. One of the important topics are state development projects concerning housing, as an additional and targeted support of the acceleration of the recovery of the domestic construction industry. Also a significant topic this year will be the development of the retail industry, since the arrival of Bauhaus has already been confirmed, and the confirmation of the arrival of OBI, LIDL, IKEA and SPAR is expected.
Despite the current global economic situation, the real estate market in Serbia has certain vitality and an even greater potential. Serbia is facing changes in certain key laws relating to the amendment to the law on construction, real estate leasing and the complete organization of the domain of real estate transactions.
The world leading hoteliers are again in the focus, because they are visiting the Serbian market more frequently, and methodologies of project management is increasingly present as a support to investors while developing their projects.
In such an environment there is a visible and obvious hint that this year will be a milestone. These positive trends of the Serbian real estate market will be, once again, "packed" into a recognizable event.
Because of this, in this year, from June 20th - 22nd, the main focus of the organizers will be on the expansion of interest from the Balkans to the entire region of Southeast Europe.
