Živorad Vasić, IHG Area General Manager

Since 2017 he became the youngest AGM in InterContinental Hotels Group. During his career in Serbia, Mr. Vasić was GM of the Continental Hotel Belgrade. He also managed the entire Delta hotel and business units portfolio and now is The Area GM of Crowne Plaza Belgrade and InterContinental Ljubljana. In the past five years he has been in charge of the pre-opening process of Crowne Plaza Belgrade and InterContinental Ljubljana.
Živorad Vasić graduated from Suffield Academy, CT. At Boston University he got two degrees from Hotel Management and Finance, with Magna Cum Laude. He got his MSc with the master thesis in the field of economic and financial indicators in hotel business. He is also a visiting lecturer in study groups of the Faculty of Economics in Belgrade and Singidunum University.
His profession in the USA took him from Boston to eight other U.S. cities and 11 hotels. He gained experience in hotel business through working and managing different departments for Hyatt hotels as one of the youngest managers. After 17 years in the United States, Živorad Vasić returned to Serbia in 2008 and began working for Delta Holding. Within only three months of his return and at the age of 31 he became the youngest General Manager in the history of the Continental Hotel, an iconic hotel with the greatest tradition in the region, operating since 1979. Today, as the manager with the great experience in creating and opening hotels, Mr. Vasić is in charge of the complex hotel portfolio of Delta Holding managed by IHG, as well as one of the decision-makers for Delta’s / IHG further hotel development in the region.
Živorad Vasić was also manager of the year in Hyatt Corporation twice, in 2002 and 2005. He won the Manager of the Year Award from the Serbian Association of Managers in 2014. In addition, in 2015 and 2016 the Crowne Plaza Hotel won numerous awards with Živorad Vasić as its GM. He is a member of the Serbian Association of Managers, Serbian Business Club “Privrednik” and the Board of Directors for Junior Achievement Serbia.
Apart from Serbian as his native language, Živorad is also fluent in English and French and currently he is learning Slovenian. He is a passionate music fan – he graduated from the Belgrade high school of music and plays the piano. American football is his hobby.
He is married and has one child.
