Samuel Sura is the co-founder and CEO of SALVIS, a leading consultancy specializing in carbon-neutral buildings, neighborhoods, and cities, with a strong focus on climate resilience and ESG compliance. With over 13 years of experience in sustainable building certifications, Samuel has played a pivotal role in shaping the green building landscape in Central and Eastern Europe.
He leads a 15-member team that has delivered more than 25 BREEAM and LEED certifications, including several at the prestigious PLATINUM level. His work supports both new construction and existing buildings, with a growing emphasis on aligning projects with the EU Taxonomy for sustainable investments.
Samuel’s expertise spans LEED, BREEAM, and WELL certifications, and he holds multiple accreditations including LEED AP BD+C, WELL AP, BREEAM AP, BREEAM International Assessor, and BREEAM In-Use Assessor. He also serves as a Fitwel Ambassador.
In addition to leading SALVIS, he recently founded EPD Clarity and EPD Square, which focus on Environmental Product Declarations for building materials and services.
Samuel studied business, Chinese language, and environmental management in the UK and Slovakia. He was part of the pioneering teams behind the first BREEAM and LEED certifications in Slovakia, Czechia, and Slovenia. Notably, he led the certification of the Zelené Átrium in Trnava—the first LEED PLATINUM and passive-certified residential building in the CEE region.
